Original Photos

Q. What kind and/or size original photos do I need to provide?

A. Ideally you will have digital files (JPEGs) of the photos you want to use.  They can be any size, since I will scale them to work in the project.  In terms of their “digital” size:  the larger the size, the better—for final resolution purposes—as long as the files are not too large to be emailed.

If you don’t have digital files of your original photos, the next step would be to scan them (separately) as high resolution (150-300 dpi) files for emailing. Save them as highest quality JPEG images and then attach to your email.  If necessary, due to image file sizes, create separate emails to speed up the process.

Pricing

Q. What does a “geneography” cost?  What’s included as the final product?

A. The basic, flat rate cost is $39.95 per final “creation.”  If your personal desires entail more project components with greater complexity, the price is negotiable. The final product is a high-quality digital file that’s electronically transferable to you via internet/computer technology. Other phtographic “hard-copy” options are negotiable as well.

Size of Final “Geneography” Creation

Q. What is the final layout size of my “geneography” creation?

A. This, too, can be governed by your personal preference.  Obviously the layout for these creations is horizontal. So, the final creation necessarily is confined to that parameter.  The images within the creation probably are best suited to a modest size (2×3″ or 3×5″), since there will be four of these images incorporated into the final creation.  You may even want to plan on how you might frame your “geneography” (i.e., type of frame, matting, etc.) to suit your own final display purposes.  **Remember, too, there are digital display “frame” devices that you may want to use as well.

Turn-Around Time

Q. How long will it take to receive the final “geneography” creation?

A. Generally within two weeks. The turn-around time may be a lot sooner, depending on any image background removal necessary.  The “cleaner” (i.e., the less cluttered, more solid) the backgrounds of the originals (e.g. a school photograph), the quicker the turn-around time.
